What is Sola Ransomware?
The malware analyzed by WhiteDefender, which researches and develops ransomware security, is Sola Ransomware.
Sola encrypts all file data, making it inaccessible. The infected files are appended with the attacker’s email address and extension. For example, a file named “photo.jpg” will be renamed to “photo.jpg.sola”, and “sales.xlsx” will be renamed to “sales.xlsx.sola”. Once this attack process is complete, a ransom note titled “README.txt” is created in every directory containing files.
