AvosLocker is a ransomware-as-a-service that initially targeted Windows systems, but later expanded its scope to include Linux-based variants.
AvosLocker is malicious ransomware that encrypts data and demands compensation (bitcoin, etc.) for decryption.
All user data (documents, photos, Excel, video, music, etc.) is encrypted using an encryption algorithm. It then adds an encrypted extension to all files, making them unusable. For example, an image file titled "digital.jpg" will be changed to "digital.jpg.avos2". You can see that the Excel file called "info.xlsx" changes to "info.xlsx.avos2", etc.
