RTM Locker? What is ransomware?
This ransomware discovered by anti-ransomware Whitedefender while investigating cyber security threats is [RTM Locker Ransomware].
Ransomware, also known as RTM Locker (Read The Manual Locker), encrypts all of the user's files and changes the image on the desktop.
It then creates a “How To Restore Your Files.txt” ransom note file and encourages users to view it in all areas. It was discovered that every encrypted file is served as RaaS (Ransomware as a Service) and adds 64 random characters to all of the user's file names.
A ransom note is a note containing a requirement to follow these instructions.
